"Thanks for such a comprehensive overview and as you say because of the lead times I can appreciate why theft has increased. One of my friends who I cycle with is kindly going to lend me a bike for a while so that will at least mean I can continue cycling although quite cold and miserable at the moment!!

Bike wise for me a road bike is my preference and I’ll drawn up a list over the coming days of the bikes that interest me. I’ll also try to look out for local shops but as you can appreciate in London most have closed down because of online purchasing.

When I had my bike fit I was presented with the full list of measurements etc so hopefully at least when I do finally purchase I’ll be close to the correct set up.
